Graham Lewis

Born in Edgware, North London on the 26th February 1985. Grew up listening to Cream, Bon Jovi and Iron Maiden before I even knew what it was, thanks to my family. This led to my love of Guns N' Roses, Nirvana and the aforementioned Jovi, in my early teens. When I was twelve my parents bought me an acoustic guitar, which I played relentlessly until I was kindly given an electric a few months later.
At school I formed a metal band, Paralysis with some friends and became the first band to get booed on AND off stage at the school variety show. Although the band were rubbish, I made friends with some wonderful people and discovered some amazing music because of it. My new found love of Marilyn Manson, Korn and Metallica took me some new musicians and I played rhythm for various bands in and out of school when I was 15. By 16 I had discovered punk I found the sound of the Clash and Sex Pistols to good to resist and formed a punk band, Cats Cradle, with a REAL drummer and a great bassist. We were good, but somehow a difference in priorities would lead to our demise.
By now punk was starting to get out of my system, as I had discovered weed and Pink Floyd, being drunk and stupid had lost it's place to contemplation and a desire to be open minded about music and literature. I may have wasted time at school trying to disprove the need for education, I'm not ashamed of failing my GCSE's because it led me to realise that knowledge is always a good thing. Being a dumbass is not.
When I was 17 I started a new band with Gemma Kali and various drummers and bassists before settling on Alex and Ed Rainbow. Ahymsa was born. My love of Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin. And in turn, psychedelia such as the Ozric Tentacles and the Mars Volta. I am a big Hip-Hop fan especially UK, such as Jehst and Klashnikoff. My hero, in ethos is Bill Hicks, I find it ironic he died on February 26th 1994 (my 9th birthday). Words have never been said better.

'Today a young man on acid realised that all matter is energy condensed through a slow vibration, that we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is just a dream and we're the imagination of ourselves. Here's Tom with the weather.' Bill Hicks
